Twist That Table
A quarter's worth of Good won't tilt the scale
against a dollar's worth of Bad. Behind
the gate that guards our 'good', an outbound trail
which leads to better places within the mind,
awaits the pilgrim's steady tread. One's stash
of good is scant to fund a worthy quest.
Long work at cleaning house and tossing trash
is requsite, before we're at our best
to recognize what's good from what's diseased.
It's only here, can one create the tricks
it takes to keep the ego-self appeased,
such that, the now expanding mind can fix
the right priorities of horse and cart.
When Good becomes the only goal one seeks,
the truth and light of goodness fill the heart.
Then one's will wakes, with powers to prowl the Peaks.
