Technology is king, and men are ghosts;
grim prisoners of silicon and steel.
The engine of their consciousness just coasts,
bereft of destination, dream or zeal.
Their televisions opiate their eyes,
and cell phones dominate attention's span,
while trips in motor cars and jets give rise
to Ego's bleak Napoleonic plan.
Few contemplate in stillness, -inner grace-
nor seek to sense the soul's eternal laws.
Yet rarer still, are those whose brains embrace
great questions of existence and it's cause.
Machines sedate the spirit's quest to see
the Self, as rooted in divinity.
