Grace or Something Like It

Two levels in a man; one high, one low.
The low is animal. The evolved ape.
Their literal grid brain, can only know
distinct things of explicit weight and shape.
Connection to any sense of the divine
does not occur, save when with dog-like zeal,
they nail their rigid myths inside their shrine,
then pray like pharoah, as if their yarns were real.
Rightly conscious people are at their ease
so purest forms of principle can guide
their spirits with transcendent expertise,
where goodness and omniscience abide.
Potential in the Psyche exists to turn
all men into that God for which they yearn.
