Furrow

Both Blake and Browning wrote, ' real God's inside '.
No vaulted stained glass church of steel and stone,
nor pastor with a patent pipe can hide,
the fact the premises don't house God's throne.
' The Kingdom is within ', the Bible deems.
No back-lit statues, decked with flowers and flame
contain or channel Grace, except as dreams
religious sharks solicit without shame.
Of countless ways to read this world, but one
affords a man enlightenment alive.
To seek the spirit's mystic inner sun
with all the heart one's passion can contrive,
transfigures Ego's vain ignoble beast,
and spawns instead, a universal priest!
