No sacred text retains authority
to claim life's wisest truths. Nor do I know.
Of men, I see the vast majority
believe their churchmen sage savants, although
no arc-lit trove of wisdom emanates
from still medieval rituals and rites.
They spit in Satan's eye and damn the fates,
believing their religion gives them sights
of Heaven's gate. Myself, no myths will bring
ascension to those heights, where clarity
and certainty transfigure everything,
and raptured bliss is not a rarity.
No single soul, forgiven of its sins
knows beans or broken wind, once death begins.
