Just how fair Virtue came to be despised
by those with wits to write their destiny,
remains a mystery to we who've prized
the quest to probe and ponder Purity.
Is work and discipline the hated aim,
or stalling quick appeasement too much pain?
Is fear and greed too powerful to tame,
or lust just too rambunctious to restrain?
Though soft rewards of 'character come clean'
don't seem to outgun clout-addicted pride,
in Wisdom's realm, Compassion is the queen
and Honor, reigns her monarch, true and tried.
In battles yet to play, in lives to be,
The Heart evolves here vile or valiantly.
